| Playmaker. Sociologist. Gourmand. |

| Justin White |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Welcome to your first Raptormania! profile, Justin. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thanks for having me. It's my pleasure to give Raptor fans the inside scoop on Raptormania. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. Let's get right to it. This past weekend, you scored 36 points against Penn State-Brandywine while battling the flu. Then, Tuesday against Green Mountain, you scored only 27 points while not battling the flu. Why shouldn't Raptor fans see to it that you are flu-ridden for the rest of the season? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Although it seems like I was near full strength these last couple games, I'd much rather be 100% so that I can not only score, but also do the little things my team needs me to do in order for us to win. A flu-ridden season would be quite exhausting. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. True or false: you'd score 45 points if you had syphilis. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I would have to think so. The only thing I could see holding me back would be the lesions caused by the STD, and as long as those are not on my hand I think I would be fine. In fact, if I had syphilis lesions on my hands my hands would be HOT, which means I could go potentially duplicate Kobe's 81(laughs). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4. Let's talk about your freshman year. You averaged 13.4 points per game. How did you manage to adjust to the oppressive klieg lights and constant media pressures of playing games at D'Youville and Cazenovia Colleg e after an idyllic high school career with games at quaint Madison Square Garden? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| That's a good question. It must have been those equally oppressive fans up at Caz, they definitely kept me going. They made it hard. All the lights, all the camera, and all the action. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5. What do you see as the biggest improvement you've made between your freshman year and this season? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Decision making. I'm really beginning to "think" about the game of basketball in different light. Freshman year, I was just very anxious, and as a result, I looked like a freshman a lot, maybe too much. This season, there is definitely a change in my approach to the game. I'm a lot more patient, and I'm trusting my teammates a lot more. Watching | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| hours of game tape from last year and then working on my weaknesses in the gym really helped a lot. Former Bard All-American, Adam Turner, is the person to thank for these improvements for sure. He put lots of time and energy into making sure I became a better player this year. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6. During your senior year of high school, you were named both Scholar Athlete of the Week and Student Athlete of the Week by the New York Daily News. Which title should your groupies tattoo on their inner thighs? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I would have to say scholar athlete, it sounds classier. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7. My ex-girlfriend was a Sociology major-therefore I am under the impression that majoring in Sociology involves passive-aggressive emotional blackmail and infrequent, below-average sex. As a Sociology major, can you confirm or deny this? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| My girlfriend is a Sociology major too, therefore I have to deny all of the above or else I will be sleeping on the futon for the rest of the semester. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8. What are your primary goals for your four years at Bard, basketball and otherwise? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ideally, I want to be the first player to lead Bard to the Big Dance (NCAA Tournament). This has been my goal since I stepped foot here at Bard. We are going to do it, too. I want to follow in the foot steps of Adam Turner and become an All-American before my career is over here. I just want to be a person that contributes to the Bard community. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Whether that involves visiting the women at the post office everyday or participating in clubs here at the college, I just want to be recognized and respected for whatever it is I choose to do. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9. Please compare the devastation you will bestow upon Vassar College, should you play them, to one of the following disasters: Hurricane Katrina, the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, or the Bubonic Plague of Medieval Europe. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bubonic Plague because it's going to spread like wildfire all across the Hudson Valley that we handed it to Vassar. Plus, it will hopefully give our former trainer Josh Chason more incentive to come back here and be around winners. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 10. Who were your biggest basketball influences growing up, both personally and of players you watched? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Definitely my older brother Parris who is unable to see me play right now. He taught me how to compete, how to love the game, but most importantly he taught me the basics, which started it all. I would also say my dad because he taught my brother. Players: Charles Barkley (my favorite all time), Jay Williams (during his Duke days), Stephon | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Marbury (he's from NYC), and Chris Paul. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11. You are taller than Nate Robinson, faster than Stephon Marbury, and you've been punched by Carmelo Anthony less than Mardy Collins. Are you prepared to take over at point guard for the New York Knicks once you've graduated from Bard? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Am I ready? Yes. Do I want to? NO! Isiah is awful! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12. With Whooping Cough, you'd be good for 63 points easy, right? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Like I said, under the most extreme illness I should be able to make Kobe's 81 look like a walk in the park. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 13. What are three facts about you that would surprise casual acquaintances? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. I'm a food snob (my dad's a chef) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. I wore #22 and #31 during my high school days. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. I take a shower before every game. Also, I wear a new pair of socks for every game. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 14. Happy Thanksgiving, Justin, and thank you for joining Raptormania! for your profile. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Happy Thanksgiving, too. Thanks for having me again. Enjoy the holiday and I look forward to seeing you at more Raptor games in the future. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
