| Greg MacLean: Freshman Profile | |||
| 1. Hi Greg! Welcome to your Raptormania! freshman profile! Well thank you for having me. 2. Tell us a little about your basketball background before coming here- your hopes, your dreams... Well I went to a small school upstate outside of Utica, NY and have played since 2nd grade, started 3 years of varsity. 3. So was your high school program successful, and is that what attracted you to the Bard Raptors? We were pretty successful. My first year we struggled because we were all young but the next year we were 15th in the state and had our best year. My third and senior year we were still pretty strong although not as successful as the year before. That?s why I was attracted to Bard, to repeat the same pattern through my first, second and third year as a Raptor. 4. What other, lesser schools also vied for your services? Union, Hobart, Gettysburg, Case Western Reserve University, Hartwick, University of Chicago, Franklin & Marshall, Mount St. Vincent, Occidental. 5. Compare your game to a current or former NCAA/NBA star. Eric Devendorf of Syracuse, just his game though, personality-wise we are probably just about opposite. 6. Did you expect the "groupie" culture for Bard basketball players to be so intense? And do you get tired of women bribing Residential Director Fred Barnes in order to get into your room? D-Wash warned me about how intense it was going to be in the summer before I came. It was hard at first because I came to Bard still tied down in a relationship to a girl back home, but that didn?t work out and ever since it?s been like the floodgates have opened in a matter of speaking. 7. According to the Bard basketball official Web site, you've listed your major as "Undecided." How did you come to that decision? I deliberated for a long time but I thought it would be best if I kept my options open. 8. Let's talk about the Bard victory this year. Wasn't it sweet? Even though Anna Maria is a girl's name? It was sweet, I mean we don?t take it any easier on them just because they have a girl?s name, we play the same against everyone, girls or guys. 9. You scored 22 points against SUNY-New Paltz! You must hate them! Yeah you could say that. 10. I'm thinking of a type of siding for a home. What kind of siding am I thinking of? Stone? 11. Nope. Stucco. If you could be a tree, what kind of tree would you be? What if you could be any two trees and a shrub? I would have to say I?d be a European Hornbeam, but if I could be two trees and a shrub I would probably be the Mimosa, the Royal Paulawnia and Blueberries. 12. Promise us you'll beat Vassar during your time on the Raptors. I?m signing a blood oath right now on this paper. |
