COACH WOOD: A PICTORIAL REVIEW
Top left: Coach Wood delivers pearls of wisdom to Raptor Christian Marghella. Wood's use of plays and regular practices were revolutionary at Bard- a demonstration of how far the program has come under Wood.
Bottom left: A portrait of Wood from his first year: where did the glasses go, Coach?
Top right: Wood's reenactments of classic films help keep the team loose. Here he is doing Young Frankenstein.
Bottom right: Portrait of the Coach as winner.
In a six-year career that has overseen a conference title, victories in three conferences and progress that has drawn the attention of even ESPN, Bard coach Chris Wood, by virtue of Bard's 90-68 romp over SUNY-Purchase, has set the all-time record for coaching victories for the Raptors with 44.
We will have wall-to-wall coverage of this achievement in the coming weeks. But it is safe to say that not only will Chris Wood be merely competing against himself for history from now on, but that he is setting records for Bard basketball that will never be broken. In the coming years, pressure will be overwhelming for Bard to rename Stevenson Gym "The Woody Dome."
